New film by Samuel Maoz, director of “Lebanon” (Golden Lion 2009), this year’s winner of the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Compelling family tragedy about loss and grief.  Soldiers visit Michael and Daphna Feldmann and inform them about the sudden and tragic death of their son Jonathan at a desolate military post. Michael is getting more and more frustrated by the never-ending visits of a whole army of relatives and bureaucrats. While his wife griefs in silence, he is overwhelmed by anger. We also witness the absurd, surreal experiences of his son. The film features the highly regarded Israeli actor Lior Ashkenazi, well-known for his role in the black comedy “Big Bad Wolves”, one of Quentin Tarantino’s favorite movies.

Venice Film Festival 2017 – Silver Lion, International Toronto Film Festival 2017, Camerimage 2017, 8 Israeli Oscars (Ophir 2017): Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Lior Aszkenazi), Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Music, Best Sound (Alex Claude)
