COMPETITION FOR YOUNG FILMMAKERS – WINNERS

COMPETITION FOR YOUNG FILMMAKERS: 6 WEEKS IN ISRAEL!!!

WINNERS OF THE POLISH EDITION OF THE JERUSALEM FILM WORKSHOP

The winner of this year’s Polish edition of the JFW Jerusalem Film Workshop, co-organized by the Warsaw Jewish Film Festival, is ADRIANA BIALIK. This year, 4 other candidates from Poland were invited to participate in the program: Ewa Chodzicka, Justyna Gawełko, Lena Jabłońska and Anna Wowra. We would like to congratulate all winners and thank everyone who participated in the competition.

The 5th annual Jerusalem Film Workshop will be held from June 24th until August 3rd 2018, and will welcome 20 young filmmakers from all over the world to be part of an exciting, educational six week program, which will end with their documentary films being premiered at the Jerusalem Film Festival. The films will also be screened at the 16th Warsaw Jewish Film Festival (November 12-18). The Jerusalem based program is an immersive and transformative resume building experience that will give the participants an opportunity to develop and advance their cinematography, editing, screenwriting, and directing skills as well as expand their professional network, all while learning more about the country and its culture.

The JFW is partnering with several film festivals from around the world, who choose young representatives to come to Jerusalem and bring their individual styles and insights. Among the festivals are the Vienna Jewish Film Festival, Warsaw Jewish Film Festival, San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, Miami Jewish Film Festival, Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, Pitigliani Kolno'a Festival, and Seret International Israeli Film & TV Festival.

The 20 talented participants from all over the world, including Italy, Austria, UK, Chile, Poland, Mexico and the USA, were chosen out of dozens that applied this year. These promising filmmakers will focus on documentary filmmaking, and will produce five documentaries that will be screened at festivals worldwide.

Thanks to the Manny Margules Scholarship fund, these gifted filmmakers will be able to attend the workshop and produce a short film in Jerusalem this summer. The program is possible thanks to the support of the New Fund for Cinema and Television, The Israel film Council, Onward Israel, The  Morris & Rosalind Goodman Family Foundation Jerusalem Film Fund, The Jerusalem Development Authority, Jewish Federations of Canada - UIA, Everline Group, the Jerusalem Municipality and United King Films.

In Partnership with Embassy of Israel in Warsaw.
