PLAN A
dir. Doron Paz, Yoav Paz, GERMANY, 2021, 110 min
Based on a true story. In 1945, a group of Jewish holocaust survivors planned to poison the water system in Germany, killing back millions of people, “one for every Jew slaughtered by the Germans“.
Time for revenge: shortly after the end of the war a group of Shoah survivors (Haganah) hatches a plan to poison the drinking water in German cities. Max (August Diehl), whose entire family was murdered in the concentration camps, encounters support within the group. For the Haganah however, the construction of what will later become the state of Israel is of greater importance; subsequently, together with the British secret service, the group’s plans for revenge are sabotaged. An action-packed political thriller based on real events.
Directors wanted to create a different kind of holocaust movie, dealing with a subject that over the years wasn’t talked about – Jewish revenge. In real life, when PLAN A failed, the ”avengers“ group moved to Palestine to start working on the true ‘revenge’ of the Jewish people – building the state of Israel.
