Warsaw Jewish Film Festival 2024

The 22nd Warsaw Jewish Film Festival will be held on November 4-30, 2024.

Screenings will take place in MURANOW cinema and the POLIN Museum in Warsaw from November 4th to November 10th.

Selected films will be available online on VOD.WARSZAWA.pl (from November 15th to November 30th, Poland-wide).

The Main Festival Partner is the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and the Main Festival Sponsor is the City of Warsaw.

Established in 2003, festival has 22 years of experience in sourcing the best international films with Jewish-related content (fiction, documentaries, and short films). Impactful movies, which promote Jewish culture and diversity, explore Jewish history as well as contemporary life of Jewish communities from around the globe.

Our goal is to give Jewish and non-Jewish moviegoers the opportunity to get acquainted with different perspectives of Jewish issue reflected on the screen and encourage dialogue and social change. Since the first edition in 2003, we showed our audience more than 1000 movies from more than 30 countries!

WJFF loves to promote filmmakers working with Jewish themes. Our festival has an international competition with THE CAMERA OF DAVID AWARDS. Our team selected and awarded dozens of movies which later won OSCARS & awards at the biggest world-famous festivals!

WJFF presents THE CAMERA OF DAVID AWARDS in the following categories:

Best Film of the Festival - Grand Prix
Best Narrative Feature
Best Documentary Feature
Best Short
Audience Award

The JURY VERDICT will be announced during the Festival Closing Ceremony on November 10th.
The Official Selection (list of selected films) will be announced by October 1st, 2024 on the festival website.

FESTIVAL'S IDEA

WJFF has been a destination for international award-winning films on Jewish topics and themes since 2003, which makes it the oldest festival of this kind in Poland and Eastern Europe. 

Festival has 22 years of experience in offering the finest film & educational programs to audiences across Warsaw city and Poland-wide. Since its first edition has welcomed thousands of movie-goers and guests from around the world, and every year presented hundreds of the best international films, which were selected at the world famous film festivals. Films that premiered at the WJFF have gone on to win major awards worldwide (The Academy Award-winning films: Ida, West Bank Story, The Pianist). 

The Festival has grown to include a variety of arts and media – from film workshops and student film productions, through culinary workshops, online screenings & live webinars, to a music performances and photo exhibits.

The Festival also prides itself on its in-depth post-screening conversations with filmmakers and other experts run throughout the year in few other cities in Poland as: Krakow, Wroclaw, Plonsk, Lublin, Lodz, Gdansk.

MISSION

Promoting Jewish culture and history, presenting the diversity of Jewish communities in Poland and worldwide, preserving the Jewish heritage in Poland, and cultivating the memory of the Holocaust.

Our goal is to give Jewish and non-Jewish filmgoers the opportunity to get acquainted with a different perspective of Jewish issues reflected on the screen. Furthermore, our goal is to offer compelling and memorable film programs to as large an audience as possible.

We encourage our audience to a discussion about Jewish identity and to strive against stereotypes and anti-Semitism, in order to stimulate more tolerant attitudes and a greater respect for the human rights of all people and nations.
