The Fourth Window
dir. Yair Quedar, Israel, 2021, 86 min
A multidimensional portrait of Amos Oz, the world's greatest Israeli writer. The backbone of the film are conversations between Oz and his biographer and friend about a double tragedy lurking behind his international success. When Oz was 12 he experienced suicide of his mother. He later left home, joined kibbutz and changed his surname to "Oz" (Hebrew "courage"). The second tragedy struck a few years before his death when the younger daughter accused him of sadistic abuse, severing all contact. The writer tells his last story sharing his views on diverse subjects of personal life, literature and politics.
