OPENING GALA 2020!

In 2020, the Warsaw Jewish Film Festival – CAMERA OF DAVID, will be held for the 18th time (November 16-22, 2020).

The Opening Gala will take place on November 16th at 7:30pm, online!

It will feature the Polish premiere of the film "NON ODIARE / THOU SHALT NOT HATE" directed by Mauro Mancini. The main role is played by Alessandro Gassman, son of the world-famous Italian movie star Vittorio Gassman (called "Sir Laurence Olivier from Italy").

The film "NON ODIARE / THOU SHALT NOT HATE" premiered on September 6th in the prestigious section of the International Critics Week at the Venice Film Festival. It deals with the issue of the current fascism revival in Italy. The cinematographer of this Polish-Italian production is Mike Stern Sterzyński. “The script has been based on a true story and therefore raises a lot of controversy. In Poland, the scale of the problem posed by far-right organizations is huge. By making films that are both a testimony to the Holocaust and a warning for future generations, I hope that we will encourage at least some of the audience to reflect more deeply on these problems”, explains Sterzyński.

Partner of the Opening film: the Italian Cultural Institute in Warsaw and Gazzetta Italia.
